A new Prince of Persia game is set to be announced this week

Evil Empire has wrapped up its work on DLC content for Dead Cells and is now moving on to a new project. Recent reports have indicated that the studio has teamed up with Ubisoft to develop a rogue-like Prince of Persia game. Better yet, the official reveal and release dates are both just around the corner.

According to Insider Gaming's sources, Evil Empire has been working on this Prince of Persia rogue-like game for a while now. Given the series' history as a 2D side-scroller, a rogue-like spin-off would fit in well and after the positive reception to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown earlier this year, a lot of fans are likely going to be interested in this game once it is announced.

Tom Henderson has added to the report with updated information. The game should be officially announced on the 10th of April, well ahead of Ubisoft Forward, a game announcement showcase taking place on the 10th of June.

The game will release first in Early Access, available via Steam. The Early Access launch is due to land on the 24th of May, it is claimed. After that, the game will likely spend around a year in early access and will likely only head to consoles once the Early Access period has ended.
