Barnes and Noble plan new tablet, Nook Color dropped in price

Rumours have been circulating that Barnes and Noble are planning a new tablet, with leaked documents posted by SlashGear a few days ago. This document details why the Nook Tablet is better value than the Kindle Fire, due for release shortly.

This document was supposedly leaked from an internal source to Slashgear, detailing a new $249 dual core tablet, due for release soon. It seems to use the same 7 inch VividView IPS screen with a dual core Texas Instruments OMAP4 processor, with 1GB of ram and 16GB of storage, expandable to 32GB. The battery is rated to offer 4 hours video playback with Wifi on, or eight hours with Wifi off. B&N are planning to announce the product later today according to sources.

Kitguru says: It appears that this rumour may be true as the price of the current Nook Color has been dropped in price by $50 to $199 by giant retailer Best Buy, fueling the discussion further. No information on UK pricing or availability for the upcoming tablet, just yet.
