Pokémon Legends Z-A comes to Switch and Switch 2 in October

It has been months since Game Freak announced Pokemon Legends Z-A for the Switch and Switch 2. We've gone a long time with no concrete release date news but that changed today, with the game being announced for October.

One week ahead of the Switch 2 launch, The Pokémon Company and Game Freak have confirmed that Pokémon Legends Z-A will be releasing for Switch and Switch 2 on the 16th of October.

Unlike Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which is getting a free update for Switch 1 owners upgrading to Switch 2, those who buy the Switch 1 edition of Pokémon Legenda Z-A will also need to buy an upgrade pack if they want to move to the Switch 2 version. That update will increase the resolution and frame rate of the game, but it is unclear if there are any other features.

Aside from this release date announcement, a new Pokémon Direct has been announced for July, so expect much more Pokémon news soon.

KitGuru Says: The more recent Pokemon games ran so poorly on Switch 1 that I ended up giving up on the console and moving to a Steam Deck. I hope that moving forward, 60FPS can be the standard for these games on Switch 2.
