AMD looks to be rebranding Anti-Lag 2 as “Latency Reduction 2.0”

AMD's quiet rebranding trend continues, with the latest victim being the company's latency-reduction software. Following the recent transition that saw the “FidelityFX” moniker stripped away in favour of a unified “FSR” prefix, a new commit in the FSR SDK 2.2 suggests that Anti-Lag 2 is being prepared for a name change.

Moving forward, according to VideoCardz's findings, the technology will reportedly be known as FSR Latency Reduction 2.0, effectively pulling it under the broader FSR umbrella. This move follows AMD's silent overhaul of its entire technology stack last November. At that time, FidelityFX Super Resolution was rebranded as FSR Upscaling, and new additions such as FSR Ray Regeneration and FSR Radiance Caching were introduced as part of the “Redstone” ecosystem.

The rollout of the “Redstone” suite remains arguably the slowest in the company's history. Despite being available in the latest SDK, the full stack is currently only visible in a handful of titles, most notably Crimson Desert and Resident Evil Requiem. Even within these games, the implementation is incomplete; FSR Radiance Caching remains in a 0.9 technical preview and is not yet functional for end users.
