Diablo 3 was a huge success on the original Nintendo Switch. Now, it appears that Blizzard is looking to double down on Switch support by bringing Diablo 4 over to Nintendo's platform.
Recently, the Indonesia Game Rating System suffered a security breach, leading to a massive amount of leaks, including crucial plot details for IO Interactive's upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light. This same breach also revealed details about an unannounced Nintendo Switch 2 version of Diablo 4.
The listing for the Switch 2 version of the game briefly appeared on the IGRS website and was quickly spotted by fans on Reddit. While no release window was submitted, typically these rating board submissions happen within months of an official announcement, so we could hear about Diablo 4 at the next Nintendo Direct, with a release later in the year.
2026 is already shaping up to be a big year for Diablo 4. The game is due to get its second major expansion, The Lord of Hatred, alongside two new playable classes. If the game is heading to the Switch 2, then Blizzard will need to spend a bit more time ensuring it is up to par compared to its most recent Switch 2 release. Overwatch just landed on Switch 2 consoles this week but was missing its most crucial advertised feature – 60FPS gameplay.
