Ecco The Dolphin: Complete officially announced; includes past titles and a new original entry

Back at the start of 2025 SEGA began to tease the revival of their long-dormant Ecco the Dolphin franchise, with the Mega Drive classic set to return with remasters alongside a brand new project. Finally, we have gotten our first proper details, with Ecco The Dolphin: Complete officially being announced – offering pretty much everything one could want from such a package.

Making the announcement via a press release, the team at A&R Atelier (founded by the series’ original creator) officially unveiled Ecco’s grand return, with Ecco the Dolphin: Complete set to take “players on a journey through time and through the history of one of gaming's most iconic franchises.”

While the package includes many of Ecco’s previous releases across the SEGA Master System and Mega Drive, the title also comes packed with “a brand-new contemporary game built for the modern era.”

Developed by many of the original devs behind the early Ecco games (including series creator Ed Annunziata alongside members of the original composition, art, and programming teams), Ecco The Dolphin: Complete feels like a total love-letter to this underappreciated series. “This is Ecco as it was always meant to be—realized by the minds that dreamed it into existence.”

As with most game collections, this package will include a ton of extra features, including but not limited to:

• Built-in speedrunning support 
• Achievements 
• Leaderboards 
• Quests spanning multiple games
• Custom courses

Though far from SEGA’s biggest or best franchise, Ecco The Dolphin remains an intriguing, unique and memorable experience, and so it is exciting to see the series return not only with a comprehensive re-release of past titles, but also a brand new adventure to enjoy.
