Amazon press conference Sept 6th: Kindle Fire 2 ?

Amazon have sent out invites for an upcoming press conference scheduled for September 6th in Santa Monica. The email does not detail any product launch or information on what is to be expected however whisperings may indicate that they will be showcasing the Kindle Fire 2.

Amazon have experienced a high level of success in America with their Kindle Fire  tablet, so a refresh or new design in the 7 inch or 10 inch sector makes sense. The company, unlike Apple, are not known for press events. Previous experience would point to the fact that they are launching something ‘big'. History also has shown that the company launch new Kindle devices around the August – September period.
