Wi-Fi available to London underground O2 users from July 9th

Virgin Media's Wi-Fi service on the London Underground will be made available to O2 customers for free from July 9th. It is set to be a popular move for thousands of daily travellers.

In April, Virgin Media said they signed up O2 as a ‘wholesale partner' for their services, joining Vodafone and EE. The Wi-Fi service is now available throughout 120 London Underground Stations.

If you are a customer and want to use the service, then you need to sign up to O2 Wi-Fi before entering one of the stations with Wi-Fi enabled. This can be set up at one of the operators 8,000 Wi-Fi hotspots or via an iOS or Android application.

When you select Virgin Wi-Fi from the list of networks available, you open a browser and sign in via the ‘other provider' option. You then enter the O2 mobile number to join the network.
