Sapphire HD7770 1GHZ Overclock Edition Review

We normally use the Sapphire TriXX overclocking software for our reviews, but this launch was slightly rushed and Sapphire didn’t have a version ready to support the HD7770 when we started these tests. We therefore reverted to AMD’s Catalyst Control Center.

The Sapphire card is supplied in such a heavily overclocked state that we weren't expecting miracles in Catalyst Control Center. To be fair, we managed to push it another 5 percent on the core, to 1210mhz. The memory overclocked very well, to 1350mhz (5400mhz effective), translating to a 8 percent increase.

The additional overclock doesn't boost performance significantly, adding around 200 points to the overall figure. 4,000+ points is very healthy for a card in this price range.
