Nvidia’s latest GeForce driver preps for Final Fantasy XV, Vermintide 2 and boosts PUBG performance

March is coming up fast and some big PC game releases are coming along with it. We've got Final Fantasy XV and Warhammer: Vermintide 2 coming up in the next week, and Nvidia is already prepared with a new Game Ready driver update. The latest driver update also brings a performance boost to PUBG.

Final Fantasy XV has been in the works for a while. A demo of it is heading out this week to give us a preview of the PC version, so if you plan on trying it out or just picking the full game up on day one, the new Game Ready driver should prepare you for optimal performance. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and World of Tanks 1.0 are also arriving next week, so GeForce graphics card users should update to driver version 391.01 for the best performance.

Finally, we roll on to PUBG. This latest driver brings performance improvements across the entire GTX 10-series. At 1080p, GTX 1050 users should expect a 7 percent performance improvement, meanwhile GTX 1060 3GB and 6GB users will see a 5 percent improvement. The GTX 1060 users will also also see a 6 percent improvement at 2560×1440.

The GTX 1070 sees a 5 percent boost at 1080p and 1440p, at 4K there is a 6 percent improvement. The GTX 1070Ti sees a 4 percent improvement at 1080p, a 5 percent improvement at 1440p and a 6 percent improvement at 4K. The GTX 1080 gets a 3 percent boost at 1080p and a 7 percent boost at 1440p and 4K. Finally, the GTX 1080Ti gets a 5 percent boost at 1080p/1440p and a 7 percent boost at 4K.

All of these optimizations are packed in with Nvidia's GeForce driver version 391.01.

KitGuru Says: I'll probably be checking out Final Fantasy XV on PC when it comes out. Are many of you planning on picking up one of March's new releases?
