Atomic Heart system requirements have been revealed

Atomic Heart is finally coming out in just a couple of weeks. The BioShock-inspired shooter has been on our radar for a couple of years at this point, but with launch just on the horizon, we finally have detailed PC system requirements. The minimum spec targets 1080p/30FPS with low settings, but you'll also find requirements to achieve 60FPS at high or ultra settings, as well as a set of requirements for those looking to play at 4K resolution.

The bare minimum to play the game is quite achievable for six-year-old systems. However, for those with 1440p and 4K monitors that plan to play the game with max settings, the requirements increase considerably. Still, considering the visuals that the trailers and screenshots have shown us, they seem justifiable.

You can see the detailed specifications and respective performance targets for Atomic Heart in the list below:

MINIMUM (30 fps, 1080p, low settings):

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 2500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • RAM: 8GB (12GB recommended)
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R9 380
  • Storage: 90GB HDD (SSD recommended)

MINIMUM (60 fps, 1080p, low settings):

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 6500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • RAM: 8GB (12GB recommended)
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580
  • Storage: 90GB HDD (SSD recommended)

MEIDUM (60 fps, 1080p, medium settings):

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
  • Storage: 90GB SSD

HIGH (60fps, 1080p, high settings):

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 7600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
  • Storage: 90GB SSD

ULTRA (60fps, 1080p, ultra settings):

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 2070 Super or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
  • Storage: 90GB SSD

ULTRA 4K (60fps, 4K, ultra settings):

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
  • Storage: 90GB SSD

In conversation with Wccftech, the game director Robert Bagratuni explained that each specification represents the worst-case scenario (“ferocious conflicts in the most populated regions”). “With the GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card, gamers will obtain a minimum of 60FPS, with a maximum indication of 100FPS in most areas”, he added. Moreover, he said that if you turn off shaders optimization, you may play with 8GB RAM, but with the added risk of stuttering when entering a new place. For a better experience, you'll need at least 12GB of VRAM to accelerate runtime-shaders compilation.

Atomic Heart will be available for PC via Steam and Microsoft Store (Xbox Game Pass included), PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on February 21st.
