Elden Ring has already sold over 28 million copies

FromSoftware's Elden Ring continues to show signs of its success, surpassing 28.6 million copies sold. This achievement strengthens its position as one of the most successful games in recent history.

The latest sales milestone shared by the studio proves just how gamers are pleased with the game. FromSoftware's commitment to delivering something more than just your “typical” souls-like has clearly been a success, establishing Elden Ring as a modern classic.

Released in early 2022, Elden Ring appealed to players with its challenging yet rewarding gameplay, open world, and lore. The game garnered widespread praise for its technical execution, level design, and player freedom, earning a huge number of awards and accolades, including Game of the Year in 2022.

The game's success has also fueled speculation about the future of FromSoftware. Recent reports suggest that Kadokawa, FromSoftware's parent company, is pushing for a full merger with Sony. Moreover, just days ago, FromSoftware announced Elden Ring: Nightreign, a co-op spin-off with roguelike elements, at The Game Awards 2024. This upcoming title, slated for release in 2025, will allow players to team up and face bosses from various FromSoftware games.
