Microsoft has announced two new Gears of War: E-Day Xbox Wireless Controllers, alongside an officially licensed 8BitDo charging dock, to celebrate the launch of the next entry in the series.
Available for preorder starting today, the Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller features a 3D-moulded, laser-etched exterior revealing the Crimson Omen logo underneath. Blacked-out ABXY buttons, a transparent red X button, matching red triggers, a transparent D-pad, and a dark silver metallic COG tag on the battery door complete the aesthetic.
Starting September 30th, players can also customise their own E-Day controller via Xbox Design Lab. Custom options feature central artwork by heavy metal illustrator Luke Preece showing a skull atop crossed Lancers, with choices for metallic triggers, rubberised grips, and personalised engravings.
Accompanying the controllers, 8BitDo has announced the officially licensed 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers – Gears of War: E-Day. Compatible with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One controllers, it includes an 8BitDo rechargeable battery pack, magnetic alignment, drop-and-charge functionality, and built-in protection against overcharging and overheating.
Both controllers will make their public debut at the Xbox booth during Gamescom 2026, where attendees can also play the game's campaign. The limited edition controller costs £84.99/$89.99/€89.99 on Xbox.com and through select retailers.
