Battlefield 6 is adding its biggest map yet with Season 3

The big Season 3 update for Battlefield 6 has dropped today. In phase one of the new season, fans will get access to two classic maps reimagined for Battlefield 6, alongside a new Ranked game mode to try out.

One of the new maps joining Battlefield 6 is actually the largest map in the series' history, as DICE looks to make up for the lack of new large-scale maps for the game since launch. The map is called Railway to Golmud, a reimagining of the Golmud Railway map from Battlefield 4, including the fully operational moving train, so watch out when near the tracks.

This update also sees the debut of Ranked Play. Launching in Battle Royale Quads in REDSEC, this is the introduction of Battlefield's new competitive framework. Ranked Seasons will feature a tiered ranking system from Rookie to Master, with a unique emblem for the top 250 players globally. Players earn Ranked Points through confirmed kills and assists, and final placement, with rewards such as player cards and titles to show off their prowess on the battlefield.

In June, Phase 2 will begin, bringing another reimagined map, a rework of Battlefield 3's Grand Bazaar. Other highlights from season 3 include a new Handheld Jammer gadget, and a brand-new Battle Pass.
