Cyberpunk 2077 update brings optimisations for hybrid CPUs

Development on Cyberpunk 2077 has been winding down over the last couple of months as CD Projekt Red shifts its focus to new projects. Still, the game has continued to receive some surprise patches and feature updates following on from the launch of the Phantom Liberty expansion. The latest update is particularly interesting for PC users, as new CPU optimisations are now in place.

With the launch of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red warned that the game would become more demanding and would make good use of high core-count CPUs. With the new Cyberpunk 2077 2.11 update, CD Projekt Red has now added a hybrid CPU utilisation setting, designed for ‘hybrid' processors that use both high-power Performance Cores alongside low-power Efficiency Cores.

Intel's latest desktop processors fall into this category. The Hybrid CPU Utilisation setting will be set to Auto by default, allowing the operating system to determine how to distribute threads. If you have a CPU with P-Cores and E-Cores, then you can customise this by switching the game to “Prioritize P-Cores”. The setting can be found under Gameplay – Performance in the menus.

The patch does far more than this though, with CD Projekt Red sharing a lengthy list of bug fixes and other improvements. The full patch notes can be found HERE.
