Minecraft still brings in 300K new players each day according to Xbox CEO

Minecraft has been around for more than 17 years, but the game is still growing at an incredible pace. According to Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, Minecraft continues to bring in roughly 300,000 new players every single day.

In a post shared during Minecraft Live, Asha Sharma highlighted the franchise’s ongoing momentum ahead of the launch of Minecraft Dungeons II. Sharma noted that more than 300,000 people play Minecraft for the first time on an average day, adding that the title has also sold over 425 million copies to date.

The figure was shared as part of the build‑up to Minecraft Dungeons II, the action‑RPG spin‑off that effectively turns Minecraft into a Diablo‑style dungeon crawler. With new dimensions, expanded creator tools and a Nintendo Switch 2 version on the way, Mojang is preparing for another busy year across the wider Minecraft ecosystem.

While 300,000 new players per day may sound surprising for a game released in 2009, Minecraft’s all‑ages appeal continues to play a major role in its longevity. For many younger players, Minecraft is often one of the first games they experience, helping sustain a steady influx of new users even this far into its lifespan.
