Mirror’s Edge seemingly no longer being delisted from digital stores

This week, EA announced plans to delist several games from digital stores, including Mirror's Edge, a single-player game with minimal online features. Fans were quick to point out how silly this was, as the game can be played perfectly fine offline, minimising the need for EA to just stop selling it. Now, the publisher has reversed this decision.

Mirror's Edge was one of three titles on the delisting notice, with the other two games being Battlefield titles, which do have more substantial multiplayer and online features.  However, as fans were quick to point out, the only ‘online' feature in Mirror's Edge is its leaderboard and losing access to that shouldn't be enough reason to remove the game from digital stores.

Once delisted, Mirror's Edge would have no longer been available for purchase on any platform. Since then, EA has removed Mirror's Edge from the list of titles being removed from sale. The company did not issue a public statement, but for now, it looks like the decision has been reversed.

Unfortunately, Battlefield 1943 and both Bad Company games are still set to be removed from sale on the 28th of April this year. If you pick the Bad Company titles up before then, you'll still be able to play the single-player campaigns.

KitGuru Says: While I doubt there are many people rushing to buy Mirror's Edge nowadays, removing the game from sale over shutting down the leaderboard did seem extreme. Fortunately it looks like the game will now be spared.
