Nintendo is bringing some of its classic arcade games to the Switch

Over the years, the Virtual Console has become a staple part of Nintendo’s software lineup. We are still eagerly awaiting its arrival on the Nintendo Switch but in the meantime, we will be able to enjoy a new feature known as ‘Arcade Archives’, bringing classic Nintendo arcade games to the console.

During a Nintendo Direct stream last night, Nintendo confirmed several arcade games coming to the Switch, including: Vs. Pinball, Vs. Clu Clu Land, VS. Balloon Fight, Vs. Ice Climber and of course Vs. Super Mario Bros.

Each of these games will take advantage of the Joy-Cons. If you want to play some local co-op, you can hand one of the Joy-Cons to a friend for multiplayer.

The Arcade Archives are launching on the 27th of September, though Nintendo didn’t share pricing information.

KitGuru Says: This seems like a good first step towards getting the virtual console on the Switch, even if Nintendo is still keeping quiet on that subject. Have you guys been keeping up with the news coming out of Nintendo’s Direct stream last night? Is there anything that has you excited?
