Redfall PC system requirements are surprisingly high

We are just one week away from the launch of Arkane Studios' next game, Redfall. The co-op vampire shooter will be landing on both Xbox and PC, and now with launch day looming, Bethesda has detailed the game's PC system requirements.

The system requirements are on the higher side, which is to be expected as we start to see more games released for new-gen consoles and leaving last-gen hardware behind. The Minimum isn't too bad and should be achievable by most who built a gaming PC in the last five years, but the recommended and Ultra requirements do call for newer, higher-end systems.

You can find the full PC system requirements for Redfall below:

Minimum:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
  • RAM: 16GB

Recommended:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080
  • RAM: 16GB

Ultra:

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-9500K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080
  • RAM: 32GB

You'll need at least Windows 10 64-bit to run the game, or Microsoft's newer Windows 11 operating system. The game will also take up 100GB of storage space and an SSD is recommended. Unfortunately, the PC system requirements do not give us details on what resolution or frame rate each of these spec points is targeting.

If you caught the news recently that Redfall would not have a 60FPS performance mode on Xbox Series X/S consoles at launch, then the high PC system requirements probably aren't a surprise. Interestingly, the recommended requirement is slightly higher than we saw for Deathloop, Arkane's previous release. For comparison, Deathloop's recommended GPU was an RTX 2060.

KitGuru Says: Redfall is pretty low on my list of anticipated releases. Ultimately, it just doesn't seem like my kind of game, which is a shame, as I really loved both Dishonored and Prey.
