Respawn opens new studio for Apex Legends but Titanfall 3 ‘not in development’

Respawn Entertainment is turning ten years old soon and as part of that anniversary, the EA-owned studio is expanding. Soon, Respawn will have a new office located in Vancouver, Canada, which will focus on Apex Legends. Unfortunately, Titanfall 3 doesn't appear to be on the cards though.

In a statement given to GI.biz, Respawn Entertainment COO, Dusty Welch, confirmed that a new Respawn studio would be opening up in Vancouver, conveniently located near EA's other Vancouver based offices. This team will be focused on Apex Legends and its future content roadmap, keeping the game alive and updated for years to come.

Apex Legends is based in the Titanfall universe but it would seem that there won't be another ‘proper' Titanfall game for some time. Prior to Apex Legends, Respawn was said to be working on two Titanfall projects but one of them has since been scrapped it would seem.

Speaking with IGN, Respawn co-founder, Vince Zampella, “there's nothing currently in development” for Titanfall, but he would “like to see some kind of Resurrection” at some point.

KitGuru Says: Titanfall 1 and 2 were both excellent but aside from Apex Legends, the franchise seems to be on ice for now. If a new Titanfall is being made at some point though, we can bet that there will be teasers and hype-building events within Apex Legends.
