Shadow of the Tomb Raider now runs at 4K/60FPS on next-gen consoles

The Tomb Raider Reboot trilogy came to an end a couple of years ago with Shadow of the Tomb Raider and while we weren't expecting to see next-gen console enhancements for this title, it looks like Square Enix has begun rolling them out.

In a surprise update for Shadow of the Tomb Raider on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, console owners are now finding that the game runs at 4K resolution and at 60 frames per second.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider joins a growing list of last-gen console titles updating to support 4K/60 on the new systems from Sony and Microsoft. For whatever reason, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have not officially announced this update yet.

The timing here is also a little odd as Square Enix just recently re-released the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy for consoles in a new Definitive Edition Collection. Either way, we will update this story if Square Enix updates us with a comment.

KitGuru Says: It would be great to see all three Tomb Raider reboot titles enhanced for Xbox Series X/S and PS5. The first game in particular only has a 60FPS mode on PlayStation, so it would be great to see that on the Xbox side as well.
