Sony announces PS Plus Essential games for May 2023

We're nearing the end of the month, which means it is about time for Sony to announce a new batch of games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Next month's free PS Plus Essential games have now been announced, including two PS5 titles.

The first game PS Plus subscribers can expect in May is GRID Legends (PS4/PS5), the latest in Codemaster's ongoing racing series. The second game is Chivalry 2 (PS4/PS5), a fantastic multiplayer melee brawler with massive, multi-phase siege battles in 64-player servers. It is one of the more unique and impressive combat-focused multiplayer games available.

The final game heading to PS Plus in May is Descenders (PS4), a sports game focused on extreme biking, boasting “easy to pick up, but difficult to master” gameplay.

The announcement also comes with a reminder that PS Plus members have until May 1st to claim the current batch of free titles, which includes Meet Your Maker, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Tails of Iron.

KitGuru Says: What do you think of next month's batch of titles? I'm not much of a biker or a racing fan, but Chivalry II is one of my favourite multiplayer games.
