Battlefield veteran opens new studio ‘TTK Games’

In recent years we have seen a great deal of industry veterans leave their positions at AAA studios in order to open their own companies. One such veteran is Lars Gustavsson. Colloquially known as Mr. Battlefield (with his credits stretching as far back as the very first game in the series), Gustavsson has now opened his own studio: TTK Games.

As reported by Insider-Gaming, following his departure from EA’s DICE in 2022, Lars Gustavsson has gone on to found TTK Games in Stockholm, Sweden. Very little is known as of right now, however company filings confirm that the studio (formed in April 2022 and officially registered later that year in November) has been founded for the purpose of making video games.

Gustavsson himself has yet to comment on TTK Games, however it is somewhat safe to assume that the studio will focus on shooters thanks to the name TTK Games possibly being an abbreviation of ‘time to kill’ – a common term in shooters.

At the time of his departure from DICE last year, Gustavsson spoke briefly on future plans, saying “I've dedicated a substantial portion of my life to Battlefield and I'm very proud to have helped shape this franchise into what it is today. However, I think it's time for something new. Thank you for all your support over the years, especially to all the extremely talented co-workers I've had the pleasure to work with and, above all, the love and support from the community.”

It is always exciting to see a new studio formed, especially an independent one such as TTK Games. While we may have to wait a while to find out exactly what the studio has planned, it will be interesting to see what direction Gustavsson takes with TTK Games.
