Remnant II gets full cross-play in latest update

Last July Gunfire Games released Remnant II – the sequel to 2019’s surprise hit souls-like. Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, the co-op focused title managed to sell over 2 million copies in just a few months. Unfortunately, those who wished to buddy up with friends from different platforms could not do so…until now.

As part of the latest update for Remnant II, patch 408,516 brings full crossplay compatibility between all three systems, with the team at gunfire Games saying:

“Now, players can unite against the Root, irrespective of their chosen platform. Team up with friends or discover open games across platforms and embark on your journey together.”

It is worth noting that PC players in particular might run into issues with crossplay, with the team stating “Settings on PC that use frame generation currently blocks the Epic Online Services Overlay, which is required for Crossplay functionality of joining friends.”

Aside from this odd stipulation, it is exciting to see full crossplay support come to the game. In recent years crossplay has become the norm, with most multiplayer titles offering the functionality.

Though it was not available at launch, it is good to see that the team have now enabled support for crossplay – especially with the game’s big focus on cooperative play. The full patch notes, including a bunch of balance tweaks, can be found HERE.
