Sonic Mania composer believes Superstars’ soundtrack is superior

2016’s Sonic Mania was praised for a whole host of reasons, from its gorgeous visuals to the game’s personality and a whole lot more. That said, one of its most praised aspects is Sonic Mania’s soundtrack composed by Tee Lopes. Ahead of the release of Sonic Superstars, the composer has claimed that this next Sonic game is “better than my stuff on Mania.”

Following his successful involvement in composing the OST for Sonic Mania, Tee Lopes is once again partnering with SEGA, this time for the upcoming Sonic Superstars. Little of the game’s soundtrack has been shared so far, with previous gameplay demos featuring placeholder music.

While some feared that Superstars might disappoint in a way which few Sonic games have (its music), Tee Lopes took to Twitter to quell fears and excite fans, saying “I think my stuff on Superstars is better than my stuff on Mania. Again, to each their own, but that's how I personally feel.”

It is worth noting that long-time Sonic composer Jun Senoue will helm the primary role of composer, however Tee Lopes is assisting with the soundtrack’s development. If Sonic Superstars’ OST is even half as good as Mania’s then we will have another banger Sonic soundtrack on our hands. We will have to wait and hear.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this claim? Are you a fan of Tee Lopes’ music? Who is your favourite composer? Let us know down below.
