Herman Miller has expanded its gaming product lineup with the Coyl, a new motor-driven, height-adjustable desk.
Herman Miller already has the Motia standing desk in its product line-up, but this one wasn't designed with gamers in mind. That changes with the Coyl, which has additional accessories for cable management, mounts for controllers and more.
The height adjustment system utilises a notched rotary dial modelled after audio equipment to deliver tactile feedback, paired with a dedicated digital display to control desk elevation down to precise settings. The coiled red power cable, which expands and contracts as the surface moves, feeds the built-in power strip. The back of the structure houses a perforated steel shroud designed to mount headset hooks and various device platforms.
The Coyl is available with four separate laminate top finishes (ash, walnut, white, and black) and two leg colours (white and black). Additional structural options include a full-length, fold-down cable management tray and a five-piece accessory bundle containing a planter, display shelf, cable clips, phone dock, and controller mount. Structural components are backed by a manufacturer's warranty of up to 12 years.
The pricing scales depending on the configured components, with the accessory bundle available as a separate upgrade. The desk alone costs $1,095, increasing to $1,495 with the cable tray and $1,635 with the shroud and the cable tray. Lastly, a fully loaded configuration (with accessory bundle) costs $1,825.
KitGuru says: The Coyl isn't cheap by any means, but that is to be expected from a Herman Miller product.
