HTC Butterfly announced, introduces 1080p displays to the masses

Following the announcement of the HTC J Butterfly in October for the Japanese market we knew that a global version was bound to be on its way. HTC has today announced the Butterfly for international markets.

The most notable feature of the Butterfly is undoubtedly the 5 inch, 1080p Super LCD 3 display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 2. The flagship HTC device is just over 9mm thick and incorporates a 1.5 quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro processor, 2 GB of memory, 16 GB of internal storage and a MicroSD slot. As has been common with more recent flagships the ImageSense chips allows for zero shutter lag for the 8 MP rear facing camera and 2.1 MP front facing sensor. The battery is rather small for such a device at 2020 mAh and with a 1080p, battery life could be questionable.

No details regarding launch dates or regions were mentioned in the press release, but one would think it will come to most major markets in Europe early next year.

KitGuru says: Welcome to the next generation of Android flagships, where display resolutions and processing power conquers everything.
