Team Ninja investigates disappearing save files in Rise of the Ronin

Rise of Ronin finally arrived on PC after many months of PS5 exclusivity. Unfortunately, the launch has not been pain-free, as players have been encountering issues with save data disappearing. Team Ninja has since acknowledged the problem.

Following a series of complaints shared on social media and Steam forum threads, Team Ninja addressed the reported issues, saying: “We are currently investigating the reported save data issues for Rise of Ronin Steam Edition”.

There is no timeline for a fix right now, but players have claimed to have lost a hefty amount of progress. This tends to have the knock-on effect of pushing people to other games depending on the amount of time lost. If you have picked up Rise of the Ronin since launch, be sure to back up your save files just in case you run into this issue.

Hopefully later in the week Team Ninja will have a progress update on a fix for this.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
