Thrustmaster debuts first ‘Space Sim’ flightstick – the SOL-R 1

Thrustmaster is making its debut in space simulation with its new SOL-R 1 flightstick and SOL-R 2 HOSAS Space Sim Duo. Both products will grant you a more immersive experience in titles like Elite Dangerous, where players are already very familiar with Thrustmaster gear.

While Thrustmaster hasn't released a dedicated ‘Space Sim' flightstick before, it has released other flightsticks in the past, which players found use for in space simulators like Elite: Dangerous. The new SOL-R flightsticks will take your setup to the next level for space flight with 44 assignable actions available on just one SOL-R 1 flightstick. If you go for the HOSAS Space Sim Duo, you'll be able to do even more at just the push of a button, the flip of a switch or the turn of a dial.

To ensure quick and easy access to essential controls, the SOL-R 1 Flightstick’s grip section includes 21 action buttons. From power distribution for Weapon/Shield/Engine to menu navigation, all of your ship’s most important controls are right at your fingertips. This flightstick also incorporates a Z-axis, and the joystick uses HallEffect technology across all three X, Y and Z axis, so your flightstick will stand the test of time and remain responsive and precise well into the future.

The SOL-R 1 flightstick will be available from April 16th, priced at £159.99. The SOL-R 2 Space Sim Duo, which contains two flightsticks, will be priced at £299.99. Pre-orders are open starting today.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
