Xbox teases Hollow Knight Silksong

All the way back in 2022, Microsoft hosted a showcase in which the highly-anticipated Hollow Knight Silksong was shown off. In the years since, we’ve heard little from the game, at least officially. While it would be folly to get our hopes up, in a surprising move Xbox has once again teased Silksong.

In a recent blogpost discussing the company’s indie program, ID@Xbox’s director – Guy Richards – revealed that “Since ID@Xbox was launched in 2013, more than $5 billion have been paid to independent developers from all over the world.”

Though primarily a function of marketing, the blogpost did offer one interesting tidbit, writing: “Looking ahead, our lineup is incredible with upcoming games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Descenders Next, and FBC: Firebreak to play across the whole Xbox universe… and of course Hollow Knight: Silksong too!”

Of course, it makes sense for Microsoft to highlight Hollow Knight Silksong as the upcoming title is slated to be a day-one Game Pass addition. Even so, given just how starved fans are for more news on Silksong, the reference made seems more than intentional.

Finally, it’s worth noting that all of the games listed by Microsoft above are currently planned to release in 2025 – all except Silksong. Given this, fans have begun to hope that the elusive title could see a 2025 release.

That said, this wouldn’t be the first time that Xbox has hinted at a release window for Silksong – only for it not to materialise. So, we will simply have to wait and see.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
