Final Fantasy franchise surpasses 200 million sales

After first releasing on PC and mobile platforms, the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection has now spread to all platforms, including Nintendo and PlayStation consoles. With the games being more widely available, sales have picked up too, surpassing the five million milestone.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection has surpassed five million copies sold worldwide, Square Enix has revealed. This boost puts the entire Final Fantasy franchise at over 200 million units sold.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection includes the original six games, before the series made the switch to 3D graphics. These titles offer the classic Final Fantasy experience, from the original soundtracks and pixel graphics to the old-school turn-based gameplay.

Square Enix has not yet provided updates on the sales of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Final Fantasy 16, both of which were expected to see significant boosts upon launching on PC via Steam.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
