Assassin’s Creed IV Freedom Cry DLC gets a release date

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed IV will receive its first bit of story expanding DLC  next week . It's called Freedom Cry and it's set to come out on the 17th of December and will launch on all platforms at the same time in the US. However, in Europe it will only release on time for the Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC while Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 owners will get it a day later- the Wii U is completely left out and won't be receiving any DLC.

Freedom Cry was revealed in October, a couple of weeks before Black Flag's official release. It will focus on Adewale, who those that have played the game will know as the former slave and second in command of the main protagonist, Edward Kenway. Freedom Cry is set 15 years after the ending of Black Flag, during which time, Adewale has successfully stepped out of Kenway's shadow and has become a skilled and valuable Assassin.

Ubisoft Communications Manager, Garry Steinman, gave a description of the DLC in an Ubisoft blog post:

“When the DLC begins, Adewale is shipwrecked in St. Domingue (modern-day Haiti), where he comes face to face with some of the most brutal slavery in the West Indies. As he makes his way through St. Domingue, Port-au-Prince and the surrounding seas, Adewale will counter the abominable cruelty festering in the region with his own ruthless justice, delivered via bloody machete, powerful blunderbuss — and while aboard his fearsome brig Experto Crede.”

KitGuru Says: My opinion on the Assassin's Creed series is a pretty unpopular one: Assassin's Creed 3 was my favourite because I thought Connor was a great character. Most people prefer Ezio, but I wasn't a fan. However, aside from all of that I am really enjoying Assassin's Creed IV and it's quickly becoming my favourite.

What about you guys: which was your favourite AC?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
