The PS4 is already selling out at UK retailers

The PS4 officially went on sale today in the UK but you might have trouble finding one in stock as retailers are already selling out of launch day consoles. At the moment Amazon, Game and Currys have run out.

All hope is not lost though, there's still a few bundles available but you'll have to pay a bit more. One of the most expensive bundles so far includes Need for Speed Rivals, Fifa 14 and Battlefield 4 costing £529, almost £200 more than the console on its own. If you happen to want a fourth game to go with that, you can throw in Knack which bumps up the price to £580. If you pick up a PS+ membership along with your console to enjoy the benefits of online multiplayer and two free games a month, you could be forking out upwards of £600 today.

PS4

Yesterday a Playstation 4, Vita bundle was announced for the UK which will cost little under £500. This bundle makes a lot of sense thanks to the PS4's remote play feature, allowing you to play your full console games on Sony's struggling handheld.

Zavvi is already offering a PS4/Vita bundle but it's pricey. It includes:

  • Playstation 4 console
  • PS Vita with 3G
  • Fifa 14
  • Battlefield 4
  • Killzone Shadow Fall
  • Assassin's Creed IV
  • NBA 2014
  • Just Dance 2014
  • £25 PSN card

All of this will set you back £850, it's a bit disappointing that the retailer didn't choose to offer up a PS+ membership with this bundle though.
If you pre-ordered a console in the last couple of weeks, it might not arrive in time for Christmas so right now buying a bundle is probably the best way to go if you're prepared to pay the extra cash.

KitGuru Says: This was expected to be the biggest console launch ever so hearing that retailers are already selling out doesn't surprise me. At the moment, neither console has any exclusive games that I really want right now so for the next year or so, i'm going to sit back and see what comes out.  Did any of you guys pick up a PS4 today?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
