Battlefield 4 multiplayer struggling against DDOS attacks

Battlefield 4 has been out for about two weeks now and has had no shortage of post-launch problems. PC gamers have suffered from all sorts of problems ranging from frame rate issues and severe crashes to loss of campaign and multiplayer progress. DICE has been working on patching up all of the issues for gamers but the problem is getting worse as a slew of distributed denial-of-service attacks bombard the game's multiplayer servers.

Battlefield 4 producer Ali Hassoon, who goes by the name Striterax on the Battlelog forum, came on to explain that they were working on fixing the issue:

“We are being targeted by a DDOS, but working on fixing it asap. I'm sorry somebody is ruining your and my day. Rest assured we are doing our best to mitigate the situation though. ”

DICE posted an update on patches earlier today on the Battlelog forum, giving a list of things that are due to be fixed. However, other than the PS4 which will get a patch this week, we don't know when other platforms will receive the update.

“We are aware of the frequent crashes in Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4. We are hard at work identifying these issues and are hoping to get a game update out early next week. Stay tuned for more details as we can confirm them, and thanks for your patience!”

Kitguru Says: The development team still has quite a bit of work to do, sometimes you can get a good multiplayer session in but for me the experience has been a little too inconsistent for my liking. Have you guys been having problems with Battlefield 4?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.

  1. Strange how the issues affect different gamers. I’ve had a great weekend of playing BF4 with little/no issues. 4 Ranks over the weekend!! Shame about the DDOS, but life goes on!

  2. I have nothing but crashes. Every round near enough! It’s frustrating to say the least! I do feel that for the high purchase price… the game should of had a much smoother release. In the future i think ill leave pre-orders and just wait for it to be sorted, win win situation! Lower price (sometimes) and less stress!

Personally i play to chill out, i end up getting more annoyed by trying to play!!!
Do’h Assassins creed 4 on the PC should drag my attention away for a while though 😛
