OCZ focus on SSD production with new fab

OCZ have been selling a lot of SSD drives lately, achieving record sales in August. They have sold 54,000 solid state drives in August alone, an increase from 15,000 per month recorded in the first quarter.

Due to the massive increase in sales, OCZ have opened a new SSD manufacturing plant in Taipei, Taiwan. From October the 25th, OCZ's new factory will be able to produce 140,000 units per month which means that all future demands should be easily met. OCZ are making a considerable portion of their income from the SSD market and it is a primary focus now for them.

OCZ are publicly traded meaning they have to announce a wealth of information, assuring the investors. With this responsibility OCZ are constantly driving product sales and coming up with ideas to get market share. They initially purchased their hardware from third party manufacturers and ‘rebranded' them, but they are moving into the dedicated arena now which means they go head to head with the likes of Kingston.

KitGuru says: We wish them all the best and hope they can continue to drive sales in 2011.
