Treyarch teases Black Ops 6 Season 2 in celebration of 115 Day

Each year on the 15th of January, Treyarch celebrates 115 Day – a familiar number to all fans of the Black Ops series’ Zombies mode. For 2025, the team kicked off 115 Day with a bunch of teasers for what to expect from Season 2 of Black Ops 6 – as well as some surprisingly positive news for Zombies players.

Making the announcement on the Call of Duty Blog, the team at Treyarch wrote: “While everyone at the studio is heads-down on polishing new content for Season 02 and working with teams across the franchise to improve various aspects of the game (more on that soon), we’re taking a moment today to celebrate the Zombies community and share some sneak peeks at what we’ve been cooking up.”

The biggest surprise announcement was the confirmation that Black Ops 6’s 2nd free Zombies DLC map (The Tomb) will arrive at the launch of Season 2 – less than two months following the last map Citadelle des Morts.

If this current pace continues, then Black Ops 6 could wind up as one of the most content-rich entries in many years when all is said and done…for Zombies anyway.

Beyond this, Treyarch also shared some more universal updates planned for Season 2’s launch, including the much-requested ability to tag tracked challenges; separate the Multiplayer/Zombies custom HUDs and (last but not least) pause co-op Zombies games when playing online.

While you wait for Season 2 to drop in just a few weeks, now is as good a time as any to finish off Season 1’s Battle Pass, with 2XP now active across the board until the 21st of January. The full blog post can be found HERE.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
