Verizon release Star Wars R2-D2 Droid 2 phone

For the sci fi geeks among you, this next item might just hit the spot. Verizon are releasing a Droid 2 R2-D2 Edition set which is due for release in a couple of days (September 30th).

At only $249, the special edition product looks to be pretty good value, with a $100 mail in rebate and a 2 year contract. For this price you get a Star Wars themed docking station and a box that is made to look like carbonite. They also supply photos, sounds, wallpapers, widgets and a ‘binoculars appl' which has yet to be detailed fully.

Rumors are that this product will have the 1.2ghz processor which is making its way into the Droid 2 World Edition.
