Sonic x Shadow Generations hits new sales milestone

Sonic the Hedgehog has been on a bit of a hot streak as of late, with the Blue Blur having recently released the remaster/expansion Sonic x Shadow Generations to immediate sales success. One month on and the game continues to perform well, with SEGA announcing the latest sales milestone.

As shared by the official South East Asian Sonic the Hedgehog Facebook page, Sonic x Shadow Generations has managed to sell 1.5 million copies in its first month, writing:

“Sonic x Shadow Generations has sold over 1.5 million units worldwide! Thank you all for your continued support!”

For context, the game pushed an impressive 1 million copies within its first 24 hours (although the figure also included 3 days of advanced access), and so sales understandably would have slowed down in the weeks since.

That said, while we don’t have life-time sales for the original Sonic Generations from 2011, it took roughly 5 months for that title to reach 1.85 million sales – meaning the remaster is far outpacing the original sales-wise.

With the 3rd Sonic film set to premiere one month from now on the 20th of December, it will be interesting to see how sales for Sonic x Shadow Generations continue to trend – especially given Shadow’s prominent role in the film.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
