AMD may have a Ryzen 5 5500X3D CPU on the way

It appears that AMD is expanding its line-up of 3D V-cache CPUs with the Ryzen 5 5500X3D, breathing new life into the AM4 platform, which has existed for nearly eight years.

KOMACHI_ENSAKA found this processor in an EEC filing from August 6th. Alongside the Ryzen 5 5500X3D, there were many other AMD processors, some already available and others coming out soon (Ryzen 9 9900X and the Ryzen 9 9950X).

This CPU is expected to feature six cores, a base clock of 3.0GHz, a boost clock of 4.0GHz, and 96MB of L3 cache. Comparatively, the 5600X3D has a slightly higher clock speed, making the 5500X3D marginally slower.

There is no word on pricing or availability yet, but we'll be keeping an eye out for more information.

KitGuru says: Do you think there's space in the market for the Ryzen 5 5500X3D? How much would you be willing to pay for this processor?
