Legacy of Kain Remasters to be announced in August

Back in 2022, over 100,000 fans responded to a Crystal Dynamics survey, asking for feedback on a potential revival of the Legacy of Kain IP. Due to that overwhelming response, we've been anticipating official news ever since. Now, it seems we'll be starting off with a pair of remasters.

At Comic-Con last week, Legacy of Kain statues were spotted at the event, with a new logo for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered. Speaking with GameSpot, a Dark Horse Comics employee confirmed that the statue on show will be made available in August.

With how all of this is lining up, it seems likely that these remasters may be officially announced as part of Gamescom: Opening Night Live, another Geoff Keighly-hosted show, slotting right between Summer Game Fest in June and The Game Awards in December.

While remasters might be first up, fans are hoping that Crystal Dynamics will have bigger plans for the Legacy of Kain series, although the studio currently has its hands full with the next Tomb Raider game, which will be published by Amazon Games.

While this has worked in the past, Black Ops 7 seems to have been a breaking point for some. According to known insiders, Microsoft is now considering a major shake-up, including a standalone Zombies game.
