Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Remasters arriving this year

It looks like the Legacy of Kain games are indeed set to return. Ahead of Sony's State of Play stream later this evening, a PSN listing has already revealed one of the surprises – The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered.

The remaster will package together both titles, in time for the series' 25th anniversary. Crystal Dynamics first began planning these remasters after seeing immense fan demand following a petition asking if people were still interested in The Legacy of Kain franchise a couple of years back.

The port is being handled by Aspyr, which has plenty of porting experience for modern platforms, having worked on all of the most recent classic Star Wars game re-releases, as well as other collections, like the recent Tomb Raider Remastered package, which includes the original three Lara Croft games.

Fans of the Legacy of Kain franchise can also look forward to a new prequel comic, The Dead Shall Rise, which is set to explore Raziel's past as a human, before obtaining the vampiric curse.

It is unclear if Crystal Dynamics has more planned after this, like a brand new game in the series, but that might depend on how well these remasters do. According to the leak, the remasters will be hitting PC and consoles in December.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
