Starfield’s second expansion may be titled ‘Starborn’

Bethesda announced plans to launch the very first Starfield expansion, Shattered Space, later this year. However, Todd Howard quickly began teasing more expansions, with plans for years of support for the game. Now, we seem to have a good idea of what to expect from the game's unannounced second expansion. 

As spotted by Timur222 on X, Bethesda filed a new trademark earlier this month, taking ownership of the name ‘Starborn'. If you've already played Starfield, then you will already know what a ‘Starborn' is. This word refers to humans who have collected the artifacts littered throughout the universe to activate The Unity. Those who pass through Unity are able to visit other universes. This concept also plays into Starfield's New Game+ system, in which parts of the universe, including story outcomes and characters, can change with each trip through Unity, essentially turning the game into a rogue-like, allowing you to reset the universe and carry your past knowledge and powers forward.

The trademark listing from Bethesda hints that the next expansion for Starfield will dive further into the Starborn concept. Perhaps there are more Starborn out there for us to meet.

As Starfield: Shattered Space is due to release later this year, it is likely that we won't see the next Starfield expansion properly announced until next Summer.
