Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice are coming to MultiVersus

Warner Bros’ MultiVersus has struggled to maintain relevance shortly following the game’s relaunch, with many players arguing that the game’s beta period was superior. That said, the team appears to be going full steam ahead with Season 2, having announced multiple upcoming characters and more.

Announced during EVO 2024, the MultiVersus team revealed a bunch of the changes and additions coming with the game’s second season. Set to arrive tomorrow on the 23rd of July, Season 2 ‘Back in Time’ will introduce two new characters in the form of Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice – with the latter coming later mid-season.

Beyond this, MultiVersus’ second season will also see the addition of a ranked mode alongside its associated reward skins, with the final announced change being various reworks including to the game’s rifts.

While MultiVersus may be struggling to hold players’ attention, it is welcome at the very least to see these changes and additions being made – even if it is unlikely to make a massive difference in the long-term.

And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
