Yakuza developers to announce new game at TGS

We're months on from the launch of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the latest mainline game in Sega's long-running Yakuza series. Now, it looks like the next game is just around the corner, with plans for a reveal at the Tokyo Game Show.

The Tokyo Game Show (TGS) takes place in Japan annually in September and is primarily focused on the Japanese audience. However, in more recent years, the show has also been used as a platform for some pretty major reveals from publishers like Sega and Square Enix. At this year's TGS, Sega studio, Ryu Ga Gotoku, plans to announce its next game.

While the studio has not explicitly said this will be a Yakuza-related announcement, RGG had also previously teased news for Yakuza fans at Anime Expo this summer. With that in mind, we are expecting a new Yakuza-related game.

Whether or not this project ends up being related to Like A Dragon, or one of the various spin-off series like Judgement, still remains to be seen. TGS kicks off on the 26th of September, so we can expect some news then.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
