Nintendo Direct reportedly happening next week and will focus on third-party games

Both Sony and Microsoft have held major game announcement streams this month and all signs are pointing towards Nintendo sneaking one in too. Recently, sources claimed that a Nintendo Direct would take place next week, and according to a new report, it will primarily focus on third-party games.

A couple of weeks ago, Sony Santa Monica writer and content creator, Alanah Pearce, revealed during a recent Twitch stream that there is a Nintendo Direct scheduled for the 29th of June, but added that she did not get that information directly from Nintendo. VGC corroborated the report through sources of its own.

Now, Spanish games journalist, Nacho Requena, has expanded on this a bit more, saying that a Nintendo Direct should be coming next week, mainly focused on third-party games. They also claim that we’ll be getting some Persona on Switch news. Persona 5 has been rumoured for the Nintendo Switch for years, and with the game finally making its way to PC and Xbox, many expect the Switch to get the game as well.

Both Bayonetta 3 and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope are being developed at third-party studios, so we may finally get some updates on those games. Other major releases we know Nintendo has planned for this year include Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Splatoon 3 and recent leaks point to a new Fire Emblem game as well.

KitGuru Says: February's Nintendo Direct was fantastic and there are still a few major known projects left to talk about for the second half of this year. Without a doubt, Nintendo will also have some surprises up its sleeve.
