Elden Ring becomes one of the best selling games of all time

For the past decade or so, FromSoftware have had a strong following, with each of their titles selling millions of copies. The release of Elden Ring in 2022 however put the developer on a whole other level – quickly becoming by far the studio’s best selling game. Ahead of the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, FromSoftware revealed that Elden Ring has sold over 25 million copies.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Elden Ring page said “We have come a long way together. We are ever thankful for your passion and support,” revealing that the game has sold over 25 million copies.

While an impressive achievement in its own right, the feat is even more massive when compared to the industry as a whole – with Elden Ring now officially being one of the best-selling games of all time; resting in between Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and Pokemon Sun/Moon (and right alongside Cyberpunk 2077, Monster Hunter World and GTA IV).

With Shadow of the Erdtree set to drop on the 20th of June, it is safe to say that Elden Ring will only continue to sell more units – and could very well crack the top 20 best-sellers list in due time.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
