XDefiant’s 1st Season to add new Faction, game modes and more

Ubisoft recently held its video game showcase for the Summer, giving us a greater look at the likes of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, alongside a ton of updates for its many live-service titles. One such game was the recently-released XDefiant; the first Season of which has been officially detailed.

Arriving on the 2nd of July, Season 1 of XDefiant has been officially shown off with its biggest addition being the new faction: the GSK from Rainbow Six Siege.

Beyond this, Season 1 will add 3 new maps (Daytona, Clubhouse, and Rockefeller) and 3 new weapons. It is worth noting that the maps will be released one at a time, one month apart, with more concrete details to come closer to launch – on the 1st of July to be specific.

Finally, the team also confirmed that Ranked Play will get a full release with Season 1, as well as the addition of Capture the Flag – a must-have for multiplayer shooters such as XDefiant.

XDefiant has had a fairly successful launch so far, but with Season 1 on its way, it’ll be interesting to see what consensus is formed when the update arrives early next month.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
