XDefiant surpassed 3 million unique players in first two days

Fans have been waiting to jump into XDefiant for a long time now, especially after the game's successful playtests last year. However, after multiple delays, buzz around the game began to go quiet. That changed this week with the game finally coming out.

According to Insider Gaming, XDefiant surpassed 1 million unique players within a few hours of launch. Two days on from release, the came crossed 3 million unique players and hundreds of thousands of concurrent players across platforms.

However, XDefiant players aren't all having the best experience. The game launched with a number of server issues, leading to frustration when trying to join or play matches. Ubisoft has been working on getting things fixed up, so hopefully the situation has improved in time for the influx of weekend players.

XDefiant was an early week launch, so there could be another jump in players coming up over the weekend.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
