PowerWash Simulator surpasses 12 million players

Ever since its 1.0 launch back in Summer 2022, PowerWash Simulator has been able to keep fans captivated not only through its satisfying gameplay loop, but also thanks to a number of free and paid DLCs – including a bunch of interesting and unexpected crossovers. A little under two years on from the game’s official release and it has seen more than 12 million players pick up the powerwasher.

Making the announcement via a press release, the team said “FuturLab’s award-winning hit, PowerWash Simulator has splashed its way to 12 million players, thanks to its exciting DLC expansions, including recent Special Packs for SpongeBob SquarePants, Back to the Future and Warhammer 40,000, as well as the release of the game on Meta Quest.”

Discussing the game’s overwhelming success, FuturLab’s current CEO Kirsty Regden said “We are continuously in awe of the impact our game has made on people. Now with a staggering 12 million players, it’s clear that there’s a desire for games like PowerWash Simulator that provide a soothing sense of satisfaction – and we intend to make them!”

While the total number of players is impressive in any context, it is worth noting that 12 million players does not equate to 12 million copies sold.

As part of PowerWash Simulator’s 1.0 release, the title was added to Xbox and PC Game Pass as a day-one addition. Similarly, the game was recently added to Sony’s PlayStation Plus’ Essential line-up in December of last year.

Still, the game’s success is notable, giving FuturLab a massive platform and audience for whatever they choose to work on next.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
