Turtle Beach retires Roccat brand but peripherals will live on

Roccat has been around for years and we reviewed many of their PC gaming peripherals over that time. The company was acquired by another peripheral maker, Turtle Beach, back in 2019. Now, Roccat is retired and folded into the Turtle Beach brand moving forward, marking an end to Roccat peripherals.

Roccat had great success with fantastic gaming mice like the Tyon and Kone. The company was also one of the first to dive into more customisable peripherals, with some products being modifiable with easily 3D-printable parts.

Turtle Beach acquired Roccat for just under $20 million roughly five years ago. The brand hasn't made as many headlines since then and now we know why. Roccat no longer exists, with Turtle Beach replacing the brand entirely with a new set of PC peripherals like the Turtle Beach Vulcan II Max or the Turtle Beach Kone. Additionally, Roccat's social media accounts have been rebranded to Turtle Beach accounts.

Much of Roccat's DNA will still carry forward into future Turtle Beach PC peripherals, as products like the Turtle Beach Kone are simply rebranded versions of Roccat's products, so we should see some product lines continuing.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
